Here are some new Texas books to consider.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-19\"><span>Fiction<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-26\"><span><span id=\"u325588\"><span id=\"u325580\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"175\" height=\"268\" src=\"https:\/\/lonestarliterary.etypegoogle10.com\/sites\/lonestarliterary.etypegoogle10.com\/files\/description\/wingate%2c%20before%20we%20were%20yours_cover%20sm175x268.jpg\"  id=\"u325580_img\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><span>Before We Were Yours<\/span> by Texas novelist <span>Lisa Wingate<\/span> is based on a true story about a Memphis children\u2019s home in the 1930s that kidnapped children and sold them to wealthy families.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-33\"><span><span id=\"u325605\"><span id=\"u325600\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"138\" height=\"207\" src=\"https:\/\/lonestarliterary.etypegoogle10.com\/sites\/lonestarliterary.etypegoogle10.com\/files\/description\/kelton%2c%20wild%20west_cover%20sm139x208.jpg\"  id=\"u325600_img\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><span>Wild West<\/span> is a new collection of eleven <span>Elmer Kelton <\/span>short stories from the 1950s, before he became a well-known western author.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-40\">The <span>Sawbones<\/span> series by <span>Melissa Lenhardt<\/span> is a trilogy of gritty western thrillers featuring a female doctor on the Texas frontier.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-46\"><span>The Fleecing of Fort Griffin<\/span> by <span>Preston Lewis<\/span> of San Angelo is one of the funniest westerns I\u2019ve ever read.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-53\">Distinguished Fort Worth tale-spinner <span>James Ward Lee<\/span> has penned his first novel at age 86, <span>Girls of the Golden West,<\/span> and it\u2019s a literary gem.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-56\"><span>Photography and Art<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-60\"><span>Watt Matthews of Lambshead,<\/span> a spectacular collection of photos and text by Laura Wilson, has been brought back in an even more spectacular, expanded third edition. (Book signing: 1-3 p.m. Dec. 2, Texas Star Trading Co., downtown Abilene).<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-66\"><span>Of Texas Rivers &#038; Texas Art<\/span> is an extraordinary volume dealing with water conservation and river-related art, including fifty-four paintings by twenty contemporary Texas artists, including Abilene\u2019s <span>Randy Bacon<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u324887-73\">Another exceptional art book is <span>George W.
