According to the City of Austin, the award is given every year to a new library. The award takes into account local culture, sustainability, digital development and the wishes and needs of users.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u391594-23\">\u201cAustin has one of the greatest libraries in the world, as this nomination confirms,\u201d said Austin Mayor Steve Adler in a statement. \u201cOur library stands as a testament to the great things we can accomplish together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"u391594-26\">The Austin Central Library has six floors, over 100 computers, an art gallery and a caf\u00e9, along with a rooftop reading and observation area.
