Literary Arts Emergency Fund<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Literary Arts Emergency Fund<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, launched and administered by the Academy of American Poets, the Community of Literary Magazine & Presses (CLMP), and the National Book Foundation, will be distributing $3,530,000 in emergency funding to 282 nonprofit literary arts organizations, magazines, and presses across the nation that have experienced severe financial losses due to COVID-19. The organizations and publishers to receive support reported $27,635,559 in financial losses to date and are projecting $48,137,391 in financial losses in the year ahead.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Texas recipients include <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Arte Publico Press, Writers in the Schools, CantoMundo, Gemini Ink, Inprint, Texas Book Festival, American Short Fiction<\/em>, Gulf Coast Journal<\/em>, San Antonio Book Festival, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review<\/em>, Deep Vellum Publishing, Kallisto Gaia Press, and The Writer\u2019s Garret. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Patterson Partnership Grant Teachers Named<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n James Patterson and <\/span>Scholastic Book Clubs<\/span> revealed the names of 5,000 teachers across the U.S. who have won <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Patterson Partnership<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> grants to help build classroom and at-home libraries for students. Each teacher receives $500 in cash and 500 Scholastic Book Clubs Bonus Points.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The 2020 partnership drew more than 100,000 applicants, showing the dire need for books and classroom resources. Patterson has now donated $11 million to school and classroom libraries through his Scholastic Book Clubs campaign.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
